MATRIX has shown his ability to serve in a creative capacity as well, moving into the realm of music production, and remixing. His work has appeared on a number of respected dance labels such as Strictly Rhythm Records, HMSP Music, NuGroove Records, Emotive Records and Kidz InDa Kut Records UK. His remix for Island/Def Jam recording artist Ayna’s “Sober” as well as his rework of The Bad Boy Orchestra’s “Do You Wanna Dance” for Easy Street Records were well received and showed his versatility in being able to cover a broad range of musical styles. More recently, MATRIX began to distinguish himself for his hypnotic use of Afro/Latino rhythmic innovations and musicianship. He creates original compositions, where he integrates original instrumentation along with other elements to fully encompass the sound and feel that is unique to his style. This is evident on his single “Arara (Babalu Aye)”, a track that offers mesmerizing Afro Cuban spiritual chants supported by tantric contemporary dance beats. He is confident that this well received track, emblematic of his evolving yet signature style, will point to future directions and opportunities for creative exploration.
